One More Note on the Town Hall
Correct me if I'm wrong, readers, but I got the impression from Waddell that the Atlanta Spirit Group weren't willing to put up any money for Mathieu Schneider. Make of that what you will.
I think for that pay they passed, but Burke has said that he has turned down some offers. So maybe we were in there, and we are going to come back with another one.
I didn't get that from what DW said at all. He said "we [the hockey operations staff] talked 'till we were blue in the face today about whether or not we should take Schneider." Apparently they decided not to, at least on the first go around. If it was that agonizing of a decision, then it will probably go the other way if the opportunity comes back to us with a lower price tag. But I don't think that ownership had anything to do with the decision at all. Besides, the team is REQUIRED to spend more than it has already just to meet the minimum under the CBA, so ownership can't exactly balk.
