This seems increasingly pointless, doesn't it?

Doesn't matter. My predictions:

Offense (in theory)

2. Boston
3. Montreal
4. Buffalo
5. Toronto

Offense (in practice)
1. Boston
2. Montreal
3. Ottawa
4. Buffalo
5. Toronto

Foolish? Perhaps. But that's my honestly-to-the-God-come-by prediction for next year. I say Boston outdoes Ottawa on offense, as does Montreal.

Defense
1. Montreal
2. Boston
3. Buffalo (defense will be improved by the presence of Craig Rivet)
4. Toronto
5. Ottawa

Goaltending
1. Buffalo
2. Montreal
3. Toronto
4. Boston
5. Ottawa
