O'Sullivan for Kari?

According to the Fourth Period, the Edmonton Journal claims that Kari could be moved to LA for Patrick O'Sullivan.

I would be for this in a heartbeat. I love the LA Kings so I'd be happy to see Kari on a team I really like. Also, I was hoping to get Patty-O at the end of the summer when he was taking a while to sign. If we do this, we keep O'Sullivan for two more years, and he'd most likely play with Kovy. O'Sullivan is a solid center that is very young.

It'd be great if we could move someone else to get a first rounder. That'd be a bit hard though, would have to give up a bit. So, hopefully Kovy will now have a real center, and Kari goes to an up and coming team that I love. Please DW, do this.

Big Shooter and Morty agree with this trade as well.....

This seems a little one-sided in favor of the Kings. Lehtonen is clearly not going to pan out as an elite goalie, and maybe not even a #1 in the long run. O'Sullivan isn't a star, but he'll be a solid 20-30 goal scorer and a good depth piece. Why would LA trade a very solid forward for a "project" like Kari?

It could seem that way, but LA is going to have a really strong defense. Kari would be an outstanding goalie if he had a proper defense in front of him. Could you imagine Doughty, Quincy, and Johnson in front of him? If he was on the Wild people would think he would be good because the defense actually defends.

LA hasn't had a goalie since the early 90's... thats why.

The Fourth Period is also reporting that Montreal is in search of a puck moving defenseman, especially for their PP. It lists Kaberle, Kubina, Bouwmeester, and Schneider as possibilities. Schneider would seem to make the most sense, since the Toronto guys have no trade clauses and Bouwmeester will cost a small fortune. Who do you think Atlanta could get back in trade from Montreal for Schneider?

Considering his age, maybe a 2nd rounder. Probably won't get anything too grand.

The possibility of having O'Sullivan centering Kovy makes me salivate. If there is a shred of truth to this, DW should pull the trigger immediately, like before the Kings get to see the highlights of last night's game.

I'm totally playing GM here, but Pittsburgh might be looking for a winger to put with Crosby, and possibly a defenseman. Kozlov and Havelid for Jordan Staal and a mid-round draft pick? Am I being too one-sided with this or would this trade fly? Also, If the Thrashers are going to trade Lehtonen, let's go for the gusto, Lehtonen, Williams, and White to Ottawa for Spezza and a draft pick. Spezza on the top line with Kovy and Armstrong, Staal on the second line with Little and Christensen. Young AND talented.
