Late Night Post: Sharks Want To Move McLaren

I know we've been here before, but man, when I think about it now, I start salivating. So what could we do to help the Sharks deal with their cap issue. So there is a guy named X. Personally, I'm not too keen on the boy. One he doesn't hit and hurt like he used to. Second, the bastard didn't personally delivery my season tickets (Brad Larsen did right before he got on a plane to Anaheim). So I'd be fine sending him off. So maybe we can throw a little more. I then go to a much younger guy. Maybe one of our prospects like Grant Lewis would do it along with X. Basically, if we had McLaren along with our current cast of defensemen, I mean think about how scary would that'd be? With Toby, Havelid, Hainsey, Shneider, Bogo, and Boris, then you add McLaren! I mean damn! Hot damn for sure. Of course I'm just getting overly excited. I don't even know how much more room we have on the team in terms of space. Whatever though. I can dream. We all can. And in my dreams I see X and Lewis skating in the Shark Tank and McLaren hip checking the hell out of Eric Staal.

I'm not sure what the salary floor is, but we're now at 42.347 million after adding Schneider.

Dumping the never-really-has-been Exelby in exchange for McLaren would be huge. And I don't think it would be too much to give up X and a young guy for him. Remember the Sharks lost a good young center for several months to injury, so they could use an NHL ready swivel to fill that space in the meantime. White could play on their third or fourth line until their IR is cleared, then go on waivers. That's something to think about in exchange for taking McLaren's salary off their fins.

Actually, White wouldn't solve many problems for them, as his salary is barely less than McLaren's. A prospect and X on the other hand would save them about a mil.

The Cap floor is not an issue. Cap space isn't an issue either.

The issue has to do with Owners Budget.
