Ah, September, cool and damp. Real hockey, with live humans, will be going down at Philips Arena in 20 days. With beer, even! I have a hard time believing it, but the overcast skies and brisk breezes are setting an appropriate atmosphere. Plus the schedule says so.
ANYWAY, the well is running dangerously dry today, this 70th anniversary of the day in that Auden poem. But that's okay, because if you head over to Blueland Outsider and Rawhide's blog you'll find two fine pre-season ruminations, both of which I agree with. With which I agree both of, I mean to say. One must always be on one's quickest feet against slovenly grammar.
Anyway, read them. I agree with Aaron's to the point that I envision the exact same line combinations. BUT:
Stewart/Crabb/Sterling – Reasoner – Armstrong
Imma call this The Business Line. As in, it's Business Time, call the Business Line. And this Business Line brings the Party.
Party Line or Business Line? Both, ladies and gentlemen. Both.

"I'm on a party line wondering all the time who's on the other end/ Is she big is she small is she a she at all/ Who's on my party line" - Th Kinks
Party Line.
PARTY LINE TODAY, PARTY LINE TOMORROW, PARTY LINE FOREVER...
Though I do like the associations of "Business Line" with that line of Jay Z's during his part in Kanye's "Diamonds from Sierra Leone": "I'm not a businessman, I'm a BUSINESS, MAN!"
Truth be told, I had just come off of a Flight of the Conchords stint, so "Business Time" was a recurring motif for me.
To muddy the waters further, may I suggest "The Mullet Line"?
To wit:
It's either business or party - just depends on which way you're facing.
Backcheck = business
Forecheck = party
...or have I just stretched a little too far?
lol, if the business line and the party line ever come together, we've got to call it the mullet line.
That, my friends, is spooky.
True story: when I read your post the Conchords' "Business Time" popped into my head.
A great and sad tune.
