Something big is going to happen. I just feel it. Don't know exactly who, but I feel as if the Thrashers are going to get someone BIG. Savard? Lecavalier? Marleau? Kessel? Kaberle? The Sedins? Not sure who exactly, but something is coming. The piece that makes Kovy stay is on it's way. The hiring of Dudley was just the first step in a direction that will change this franchise forever. Something to consider: Dudley came from Chicago. One name never or seldom mentioned for Atlanta is Martin Havlat.

Dudley swings a trade with Chicago. The Czar bids a tearful goodbye as Kane, Toews, Keith, and Mike Ditka suit up for the Thrashers.

Or Kari goes to the Avs along with the Boris in exchange for Paul Stastny and swapping first round draft picks.

Or, hell, let's just send Kari and Boris to the Avs for their first round pick so we can take both Duschene and Kane.

I don't know if any thing BIG will happen, but we will make a deal or two. I wasn't too impressed with Dudley as a GM, but from what I hear he is a good talent evaluator, and should help at the draft.

I think the most likely scenario is trading Pavs, maybe our 2nd... and if you are going to get really big maybe a positional player, for either a top 6 O, or top 4 D.

The Sedins are interesting, but might handicap us in trying to sign Kovy. Nothing will happen with them until after July 1 anyway. We don't have the immediate return SJ needs to get Marleau. I'd love Kessel and I think that is the type of talent level that we could probably get, but our biggest asset is a goalie and the B's have TIMMY!!!

Havlat will be interesting. He says he wants to stay in Chicago, but he'll have to take a pay cut to do so.

I think it's totally possible we could get Havlat through free agency.

I doubt something really big is going to happen tomorrow, but you never know...Boris and a 2nd-rounder for Marleau, maybe.

Oh, and Jay-

Re: no one ever mentioning Havlat: http://bluelandchronicle.blogspot.com/2009/04/blah.html

I couldn't resist.

Unfortunately, most of the players I'd really like to see us pick up in the forward position belong to teams that don't need a goalie.

The Bruins (Kessel, Savard), Sharks (Marleau), and Blackhawks (Havlat)all have long term deals with number 1 goalies (though Huet is debatable), and have good prospects in goal in their farm system.

That leaves us looking at teams like Colorado, the Islanders, Ottawa, Tampa, and anyone else who is shaky in net. The Avs could offer us Stastny. Not sure the others boast anything that will help convince the Czar that we're moving in the right direction.

You are out of your f'ing mind if you think the Sharks are going to trade Patty M for Boris and a 2nd.

Did you get this from the Short Handed Mole?

Shooter-

That was a joke.

Thank goodness. For a moment there I thought we were going to have to take this blog thingy away from you and just give you a twitter.

Does that make any sense?

Yes, it does, sadly. Reading comprehension is very important for America's Children.
