GAME DAY: Buffalo Sabres

Oh for God's sake.

You leave your hockey blog alone for most of the day, because you have irritating-to-the-nth-degree "real things" that need to be done, then visit it in the late afternoon only to find that no one has written a game day post with a dumb picture of a buffalo yet.

This is an outrage. Here's a lightsaber fight, between cats:

The Thrashers play the Sabres tonight. As some have discovered via the Globe and Mail, they are not mathematically eliminated just yet. But probability is a hateful thing, and it's likely they will be very soon.

Why do we care at this point? Because the Thrashers remind us of our favorite cartoon characters.

Sure would be nice if we go ahead and lose the next 4 and finally crush all the hopes and dreams I had for this season.

If you're actually attending this game of clusterpuck, feel free to push some Sabres fans down the stairs for me.

I dont mean to kick the team when theyre down, but Ben was giving away tix today via Tweeet-R with some trivia. Only it wasnt about the team or any players, it was about a member of the Blue Crew...

That neither bodes well nor looks good in my opinion.

Dear God, Morty, that video is EXACTLY like watching the Thrashers fail to make the playoffs after coming so close so many times. In the ever-applicable expression of Atlanta professional sports teams, "clutching defeat from the jaws of victory"

I had forgotten just how cla-SEEK that skit was. Uh uh UH uh uh uh-uh uh. They don't write 'em like that anymore.

They just don't make 'em like Wile E. Coyote anymore. In fact, I'd vote for turning this blog into a Phoenix Coyotes blog just so we could have him on more often.

Morty, you'll have to show me how you post music so we can put up Great Divide's "Wile E. Coyote."

MS- I know we're all seeing gloom and doom wherever we look these days, but I don't think Ben Wright's use of the Blue Crew for a trivia question is reason to panic. Besides, he did use one of the hottest.
