At Least the Thrashers are Kind to the Elderly

And at least I'll be able to say I saw Chris Chelios play.

ALSO: Does this mean that, even though he'll only be around for a few weeks, we should all get Chelios jerseys? I'm not joking. I think I might get one.

ALSO ALSO: Will the presence of the very old version of Chris Chelios turn the Thrashers into a bullish playoff-ready team? Personally, I think the possibilities for this team extend about as far as "Hey look, that's Chris Chelios skating around out there," but I accept there might be valid arguments for Cheli single-handedly saving this brimming cloaca. How do they go, exactly?

I believe Frenchy owes me 10 bucks. I bet him last night that Chelios would be called up just so they could ads his jersey to the St. Paddy's auction.

Actually Frenchy didn't take the bet so he doesn't owe me anything but awe at my prediction.

If nothing else, at least this will make another reason to go see the games. I hope he plays well, and I'm intrigued to see it happen on our Philips arena ice. After his first game the Thrashers can say hello to media attention.

According to Ben Wright, Cheli will be wearing #24. And yes, Morty, I do think this means we all need Chelios jerseys. I can alternate wearing that and my Tkachuk jersey.

Schneider and Chelios the last two seasons, I heard Brendan Shanahan is looking for work...

Looks like I may have to shell out the dough to get K-belle a Cheli jersey since # 24 is her fave #.

And I have a sneaking suspicion he will be a fan favorite too after he levels a few crease-crashing bodies and reminds them of why he was and is so good at this job.

But that's just me. I also thought Chelios should've been in the line-up no later than Sunday to keep the team focused and lead by example. Of course the management of this team lets us down, again.

Konstantinov would be an improvement over some of our players the last three games.

Ouch Razor, just ouch.

I can think of at least 3 or 4 Thrashers who have been playing like they were brain dead.

One of them permanently so.
