Speaking of the Blogosphere...

Now that I've had a catharsis, of sorts, railing at the dullness of most of the hockey media, traditional and blogospheric, I think we should all take time to wonder how the better-read hockey blogs might generate some extra money through ad revenue.

They could follow the lead of this sexy promo reel from Gawker Media, hawking the network's various blogs to potential advertisers:

Curious. Can't Yahoo make a Puck Daddy promo reel to attract advertisers, possibly featuring Greg Wyshynski's appearance on Hockey Night or whatever Ron McLean* program that was? Surely James Mirtle can swerve his various media appearances into a suitor-attracting SB Nation promo video, right?

As for a smaller blog like the Chronicle (I say this only observationally, not in the spirit of whining and self-pity; if we wanted a bigger audience we'd probably make an effort to get one), our promo reel would probably look a bit like this, but worse:

If you don't invest in the Awl or Wonkette, you should.

*I'd like to stress that none of my criticisms of the hockey media apply to Ron McLean, ever. Ron McLean can do no wrong.

Is it intentional that your link to the Thrashers' website goes to something called Fail Blog?

Wow, I forgot to change that link. Long ago, during the earlier part of last season they really, really, really sucked, I changed the link to FailBlog. Maybe I should change it back.

Big Shooter, go read the fouth period rumors stuff... a said favorite shark of yours is apprently being shopped. I am thinking it would be nice to have him here in ATL.

Guys, whatta ya think about Patrick Marleau centering Kovy and Little (or Antropov)? A little pricey though, but a definite upgrade.

Kovy - Marleau - Little

Kozzy - Pevs - Antro

Kane - Reasy - Army

Trade White and a D-man not named Bogosian, Enstrom, Hainsey or Kubina and there you go!! A "get out of jail", but not so free card for the Sharks. Do they need a back-up goalie too?

Mr Speaker (With your name you should be refered to that way)- that actually looks like a pretty dangerous team there.

In terms of Goalies they got Mother Russia (Nabokov) and Brian Boucher

Mr. Speaker-

I've repeatedly said, for decades, that the Thrashers should make a bid for Marleau. Your suggested line of Kovy-Patty-Little would be one of the fastest, maybe the fastest, in the NHL, no question.

I'd love to have him, but I believe he has a no-trade clause. The Sharks don't seem like they'll be making the promised off-season shake-up, so I reckon he'll stay in San Jose.

Also, I think that before the Sharks pull the trigger on a Marleau trade they'll realize the man scored 38 goals and generally had a great season in 08-09, so I doubt anything will happen aside from him losing the captaincy.

One last thing.

A2B-

Boucher went to Philly, sadly. They really do need a back-up, preferably a young one. HMMMMM...

God, I can't shut up.

I have serious dread that Doug Wilson will make the amoral but shrewd decision to send Jonathan Cheechoo and Evgeni Nabokov to Ottawa in exchange for Dany Heatley. I think it could be done even in this cap environment.

Mr. Peacock - That's an interesting scenario by which Ottawa could rid themselves of the disgruntled, team chemistry-wrecking albatross known as Dany Heatley. Does Cheechoo play LW?

Cheechoo - Spezza - Kovalev

Not bad, but more importantly they would have a goalie worth a damn finally. I guess San Jose would need to sign a UFA.

Mister A2B - thanks for the title of Mr...probably the only time that will happen on a blog I participate in!
