Even Newer Blogs in Town

Dear God. It seems like everywhere you look these days, there's a new Thrashers blog popping up. They're streaming over the border, encroaching on the Chronicle's market, taking our jobs and women, building their crazy restaurants with the Food. Pretty soon we'll all be speaking their language.

That said, do check out the newest additions to the online Thrashers kingdom:

- Slightly Off Topic

- Getting Pucks Deep

- Chi-Town Thrash (featuring a Wolves-ish perspective)

What the hell is going on? Hot on the heels of new blogs like Blueland Outsider and Thrashers Recaps and Matt McConnell and The Russian One you've got these whipper-snappers. The Thrashers blogosphere is HUGE.

Personally, I thought of starting a blog myself, but I didn't want my best efforts only read by FIVE people...

No, wait, what the hell am I doing here?

Wow, it's almost like this team has... like, a fanbase, or something.

I think the Thrashers actually have a pretty good fan base. Not up to the level of even Nashville, let alone San Jose or a team that's actually won a Cup, but good.

It's apathetic fans that hurt a franchise. Look at the Braves. They win, nobody really takes notice. They can't sell out playoff games. They lose, nobody really cares.

Thrasher fans are at least emotionally invested enough to be upset when we tank. Bring us another promising rookie next year, sign the Czar to an extension in July, and convince a couple of real quality free agents to come in over the summer, and you'll see some activity in the stands in October.

Why Razor, you make it seem quite simple.

Lemme get this straight: Nashville has a fan base?!

I've never even seen any of their blogs...

Wayne-

The Preds have a pretty good fan base. As far as blogs, I only know one, but it's a fine one. On the Forecheck at http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/otf/

When the Chronicle travelled to Nashville recently the crowd at the arena, and the people we met at bars afterward, were extremely passionate and knowledgeable.
