I think Roli should take that. He wants a multi year deal, but that is good money and most players that are 40 accept the fact that they are on year to year contracts.

Since Hossa's rights have not been traded by detroit I think that means he will be a wing and that means Hudler and Sammy walk, and Flip is traded. Do the wings become the bloated dead fish that is the Ottowa senators if Hossa stays?
Jointhead... as a Wings fan what do you want to happen? I think I'd rather see Hossa walk if I liked the Wings...
Mixed feelings. Loved watching hossa play this season, but loosing Flip AND hudler. Lidstroms contract runs out next season and if he doesn't retire he will take a paycut freeing up cap space next season but Flip will already be gone. So do we sign Hossa now while we can? We do have Helm, Leino and abdelkader that can take roster spots this season though. If he takes the discount I say we sign him sqeeze by this year and breath easier next year and hope Leino fills in nice for Flip. Flip for Pavlec? What does Pavlec make this year? I would love to see him on the Thrashers.
