--Brian Campbell didn't hit his offensive stride until his third or fourth full year in the NHL.
--Ron Hainsey didn't hit his offensive stride until his third or fourth full year in the NHL.
--I'm not saying that Ron Hainsey is the next Brian Campbell or somehow equivalent to him. Campbell's numbers all through his career have been higher than Hainsey's: Hainsey's "stride" so far has been 30-something points a season and Campbell's is much higher, of course. But Hainsley seems to be improving his game year by year, and playing on a team where he can pass to Kovalchuk's one-timer (which isn't remotely comparable to Rick Nash's one-timer) would raise his points considerably.
--The Eastern Conference, let's remember, is more offensive than the Western Conference.
--Brian Campbell has never shared a division with the Detroit Red Wings. We now have eight years to see how offensively capable he is against them.
