this was the first game i was able to attend all year, minus a few players there just seemed to be a lack of effort, kovy being the the biggest slacker imo. was a close game though.

The effort was there, the bounces weren't. Or the talent. Kovy seems reckless and out of control half the time. It sometimes seems like Kovy's stickwork is too fast for even the puck, which tends to get left behind on some rushes, which in turn leaves the Thrashers in some bad spots defensively. I thought Valabik played very well. Hustled and showed some toughness. Christensen has the talent to do just enough to get himself some looks, but not enough to finish the job. Little is having quite the amazing year. Lehtonen is showing that maybe he's the one the Thrashers should keep and not Pavelec. He made some nice stops. Boston is just too talented. Everytime I see Marc Savard play, I always think of what might have been...

I thought the Thrashers played a pretty smart game. They didn't let the Bruins get much offensive push and they generated some pretty good shots. Jay's right, talent was the difference rather than effort.

Sean Avery? I know hes a prick, but hes not bad and we couldn't get worse. At least he might change up the attitude of the team. He would either send us crashing down to Tavares or climb out of the basement. Plus he hasn't left any sloppy seconds around here yet.

i guess i should clarify what i meant by lack of effort, kovy for instance would lose the puck sometimes and just give up and make no attempt to get it back. we just dont seem puck hungry, we play a bit passive and just watch the puck.
i agree that we def had our chances. like i said though was my first game of the year sometimes the speed of the game just seems so different in person.

the sad thing, for me, is that kovy is matching up with his one-timer like he used to. he used to be able to connect and put it right in the net. it's worrisome...
