Sour Swede Spanked in Ramsay Rampage!

Lots of talk about this "Niclas Bergfors" being benched for at least a game.

Bergfors seems a little out of sorts, like he's beginning a classic sophomore slump or is just plain uninterested (or "disinterested," as people who don't know the meaning of words say) in this Thrashers gig. It sounds like Ramsay is trying to send a message, blah blah blah, etc.

Is this important news? IF SO, what do you kids think?

P.S. Clarke MacArthur, how about that? Your Chronicle can honestly say we didn't expect this.

I will be disappointed (or is it unappointed?) if he is benched. After 3 games? Come on. We've got plenty of other people like Stewart that need to take a seat (in the AHL) ahead of one of the only guys that has offensive talent not named Chris Thorburn.

But wait, Dudley drafted Stewart in the 1st round in FLA, so he has to play. There is a reason he has something like 2 NHL goals. I'm still trying to warn you people about Dudley. Hope I'm wrong!

Ah but Anthony Stewart is very important to this team with his large amount of lack of talent.

This team is so underwhelming. It's like a team with Jason Williams and Erik Christensen but with no goal scorer.

Often teams have players that can cause momentum changes like how Scott Stevens could hit or like how some Russian guy we had could score an electrifying goal.

Chris Thorburn does send chills up my spine though.

Check your aim before you pull the trigger there, Shooter. As much as I questioned Stewart's signing as well, he has proven himself to be a viable third/fourth line guy. Bergfors on the other hand has been invisible throughout preseason and the first three games.

Send a message now. Don't appear to be unwilling to sit a guy just because he's supposed to be a producer. If he's not getting chances and not working hard enough, send a message. I'd rather have Stewart in there getting the puck deep and fighting along the boards tomorrow night than Bergie half-assing it around the neutral zone.

I mean a kid that works hard and gets put into a game doesn't really mean anything if he can't produce. It's nice he works hard, but if you aren't very good then, well you're just not very good. I'd rather just have results. I hate this whole, "oh wouldn't it be nice stuff if this player could do this because he's a good guy and works hard." All I'm going to say is that Steve Downie may be a dick, but he does score goals.

Wow, I don't even know what to write because I'm just simply astounded that Frenchy is here to converse hockey with us...I am trembling at the sight. I bow down to you Monsieur Catalogues as I am truly humbled by your wisdom.

And yes, Anthony Stewart should probably not be playing on our "top line"...hell, Jimmy Slater would be better suited for a top line RW if all he is counted on is to bang bodies, keep the puck deep and create space. At least that ThorNburn guy actually scores a goal even when he's winded from all of the forechecking and physical contact. How DOES HE DO IT? Must've been my "atta boy" speech I gave him in the parking lot of the Ice Forum.

Ha! I just got "heroknug" as a word verification treat!

Thank you, Frenchy.

Off topic: What the hell is up with all you guys on fantasy hockey? It is fantasy you know? It seems like when I went away from commenting, people went a little crazy.

Also off topic: Ron Hainsey's wife is about to bust a pumpkin out of her ass apparently.

Now THAT was funny. Unlike that high and mighty ass clown over at yahoo fantasy...what's his name?

Mr. Dope Swede or somethin'?

Frenchy (and Shooter by proxy apparently), that's exactly my point. Effort and production are all that count. Bergfors hasn't brought either one when he's been on the ice thus far, so why not bench him for a game to send a message? Because he's annointed as one of our goal scorers?

I say I'd rather see Stewart in there than Bergfors right now because NEITHER ONE IS PRODUCING, so I'd rather see the ice time to the guy who at least looks like he's trying and can control the puck for two seconds without turning it over.

In three games plus preseason, Stewart is getting more chances than Bergfors. I'm not saying he deserves to be on our top line (in fact I specifically said third or fourth), but for the time being, Big Shooter has had more legitimate scoring chances with whale sharks than Nik Bergfors has had with the 4x6 net.

Bench his ass then wake him up for the Sharks game.
