*Sigh*
2-1 loss to the best team in the NHL on the same night the Flyers get trounced by the Islanders and the Bruins fall flat to the Panthers. What are you gonna do?
My new prediction: Atlanta loses to the Pens, then beats the Devils, only to lose again to the Caps. Except for tonight's head to head match up, neither the Flyers, Habs, or Bruins wins another game. Then the Thrashers lay a huge egg against the Pens in the final game of the year to end up in a pittiful 80 point tie with two other teams yet stay in 9th place.

Every game Chelios has played in, we've lost.
Why the hell we brought him up instead of Kulda is completely beyond me...
And yeah, we're done. We'll probably end up in the exact scenario that RCP described.
That Bradley goal last night was 100% attributable to Chris Chelios. I am very sorry to say it, but he's just not capable of keeping up in the NHL anymore. Bradley just shoved him out of the way and skated around him to drive to the net. I was so infuriated that I rewound TiVo to see who our defender had been, and it broke my heart to see that it was Chelios.
That Chelios play was brutal. He really shouldn't see another game. Let him practice with the team and that is it. I really liked the way the team played last night, and I am not one to enjoy moral victories. We played really hard and other than the Chelios play, in any other circumstance, it was a great game, BUT means nothing since we lost. As I watched the other scores, I just KNEW we'd choke....It is scary to think that we'd be on the inside looking out if our 18 year old rookie didn't get hurt. Evander just adds another solid dimension to this team. Also, never thought I'd say this, but after 6 years (or whatever it has been), I am finally happy with what Slater is bringing to this team. I think we found his role as a poor man's Evander Kane. He should fill Armstrong's role nicely next year if we re-sign him. I would really like to see a win on Saturday and a Boston and MTL loss on Saturday to make Tuesday a truly important event (how many of these have we had in the last 3 weeks.....).
Hopefully Kubina won't be out very long. If we can get him back in the lineup, along with Kane, and play like we did last night, we can win two or three of the remaining games.
I completely agree about Slater. He has gone from a good 4th line center last year, to a long term healthy scratch this year, to our most consistent hard working player. I saw re-sign him at 800k for six years.
