Sorry for the radio silence over the weekend; we didn't have much time to perform acts of blogging, what with all the traveling through terrifying snow storms to watch the Thrashers play the Predators in Nashville. In the company of one Raw- "Willy Tilly" -hide, even.
As usual, we had a great time. The Nashville fans are incredibly decent and welcoming, and even curious and interested re: the Thrashers, and the arena noise at the Sommet Center puts Philips Arena to shame. Speaking of arena noise, the Thrashers Fan Club delegation was huge and loud. As for the bars afterward, well: the highlight of my evening was dancing around in a whiskey haze while some cover band played Steve Earle's "Copperhead Road." Took me a while to recover.
Shame about the Thrashers losing, isn't it?
I assume there's news about the Thrashers, about our impending goalie trade, about that one Russian guy and more to comment upon; here at TBC newsroom we'll keep a keen eye on the Twitter-wire.
P.S. We'd also like to announce that we've traded the entire staff for J.S. Giguere and Dion Phaneuf.

Glad to hear you guys enjoyed yourselves. Tiller wrote on the AJC site yesterday that a TBC member lost a signed Czar jersey while in Nashville. That kinda sucks.
I'd like to congratulate Brian Burke for spiking the punch at the NHL's trade deadline party. Hopefully a massive amount of wheeling & dealing ensues. If there's one thing I feel confident about now, it's that we won't be trading Kovalchuk to our former hockey club in Calgary. They have a glut of forwards, and any combo of them in return would not be equal value for the Czar.
It's funny everybody else seemed to think that Nashville fans were cool...the ones I ran into were real dicks. I hope they burn in a fire..though still not as bad as Buffalo fans
GPY-
Yes, one of us is a pathetic enough human being to lose a goddamned SIGNED Ilya Kovalchuk jersey in the wilds of Nashville. I'll leave which one of us to your imagination. Whoever it is, they deserve to contract some exotic illness.

Sorry to hear that, sir. I suppose there's dicks in every crowd, but I talked to quite a few Nashville fans and they were all really cool. Some good-natured ribbing of the Thrashers here and there (of course) but they were perfect ladies and gentlemen for the most part.
Maybe the ones you met were intimidated by the Fan Club presence.
My favorite part of the trip was when we turned the corner and saw a man explaining to his son what the two dogs were doing.
Roll over, I'd rather have a puppy.
Yeah, that Burkie, I'm glad he made some big trades. I tend to like teams to look fairly consistent year to year so that players can develop relationships in the community, but seeing no trades of note over the last couple of years has grown boring. And then there's the fact that Calgary couldn't really give up enough for Kovalchuk without giving up either Iggy or Kipper.
PS - Had to pass this on: The word verification on this one says "bawlsens" and I'm talking about the Leafs. It'd be even better if the Sens were on a 9-game LOSING streak, or got into the playoffs only to be swept by the Leafs...
