PRE-SEASON GAME DAY: Carolina Hurricanes

Not sure what the roster will be, though we THINK it might be that Group A group. Or is it? Who knows?

Hopefully many interesting things will happen tonight. Meaningless pre-season victory might arrive in a gleaming UFO.

Went to the game last night. Some thoughts:
-LOVED the defense. You can see they have definitely put more focus on it.
-HATED the powerplay. I'm going to attribute this to having a bunch of players who haven't played together a whole lot. Just seemed like a chaotic mess.
-I thought Noah Welch could definitely make the team. Like his size.
-Big Buff would definitely serve this team better up front than on the blueline.
-It seemed that Fredrik Modin was in on almost everything. He could end up being this year's Afinogenov.
-Chris Mason could be to this team what Craig Anderson was to the Avalanche last year.
-I can see the offensive talent of Burmistrov and would say give him a shot for a few games at the beginning of the season. Send him back to juniors if no improvement is shown.

With so many regulars being out(Kane, Antropov, Hainsey, Slater) and AHL guys filling out the lineup, it was hard to get a good read on how this team will play. If tonight was any indication though, the Thrashers are going to be in a ton of 1-0, 2-1 games. They need to find some scoring.
