Vivlamore is all like, " year deal on Bergfors worth $900, 000."

In other hockey-playing Swedish people news, Carl Klingberg will NOT be attending rookie camp this year, probably because he's still under contract with Frolunda in the Swedish Elite League and doesn't want to become an oath-breaking vulgarian by dishonoring it.

ALSO: Fredrik Peterrsson, you know him? Well, he's been interviewed.

So many Swedes.

This means that Bergfors is obviously trying to win a bigger deal, and if we're not in the race in March, you'll see him shipped out of town to the Rangers for Erik Christensen, Todd White, and a 7th round pick in 2017.

In other news, I'm a big Petersson fan. He looks like he could've been a villian in one of the Die Hard movies. Therefore, he's instantly one of my new favorite Thrashers.

And how in the hell does all of this affect Ten Gallon?

I'm still trying to figure just what to do with it. The plot problems are DIFFICULT but not insoluble...

And yes, this sets us up for a White/Christensen/7th deal. Something tells me Bergfors isn't keen on staying here. Alternatively, Dudley isn't that interested in keeping him here. Both possibilities make us :(

I concur with all of the above comments.

Is it a bad omen that the word Google wants me to type in to verify this post is "suctude?"

Hopefully Bergfors will put up big numbers so that he will fetch a tidy bounty in a deadline trade if that is indeed what must happen.

Keep in mind though that he will be an RFA once again, so we won't be under the gun to trade him in February. We can easily wait until the offseason to move him.

Ok, I'm still a bit new to this, but how does a one year deal mean Bergfors doesn't want to be here? Didn't Lehtonen take one year deals back to back(to back?)? He would have been here if he wasn't made of glass and overweight(Humpty-Dumpty?) Could it be that they wanted to work out a longer deal, couldn't come to an agreement, and just decided to do a one year deal and try it again next offseason? Has anyone actually heard that he doesn't want to be here, or is everyone just assuming?

I certainly haven't heard anything like that, Jay. I think people are assuming. More than likely it's a case where he felt he was worth a lot more than the team did. He signs a one year deal planning on having a big season so as to be able to make more money then.

Anyone willing to place bets on just how long Bergfors will be a Thrashers? Anyone? Bets?

More assumption-making: The recent spate of relatively low-paying, short-term contracts and/or contract offers are an indication that the ATL Spirit is trying to bail and bail soon. Discuss?
