GAME DAY: Rangers

Because it's well known that Chuck Norris...that Chuck Norris...ummm...can't think of a good Chuck Norris/NYC joke.

Marian Gaborik is still lighting the world on fire, but the Rangers are at the moment having a moderately hard time.

Moose gets the start tonight, Salmela is again inexplicably out, and no one can be sure just what any of this means.

Go Thrashers.

***

For this game day's "In Praise Of..." blurb, I'd like to give a shout-out to the courageous journalists over at Thrashers TV for unearthing terrifying evidence of unfortunate goings-on at Thrashers headquarters: exploitation of laborers at the strangely hand-like talons of a large bird.

Wow, Kovy finally did something different in the shoot-out! Bravo!

Even Slava changed it up and both of them beat Lundqvist like a rented goalie.

"Banged home and dirty!!" I like.

I spent my entire graduation following the game on my phone, but I'm hella glad to see the Thrash come home with 2 points and be sitting in 6th place.

And Kovy's shootout move? WOW.

It was great to see both of them change their patterns for the shootout. You have to love 2 road wins at MSG this year. Now we have to win the 2 at home and get the sweep. I was at MSG last night as I flew out just for the game. It was certainly worth the trip. Rangers fans are lame though. The best they could come up with to yell at me was "Thrashers suck" and "Kovalchuk sucks"....wow...how do you come back from sharp tongues like that! hahaha....giver me a break.....Hope we keep this going.

h - way to represent the Bluelanders up in NY against the Blue Skirts! Was it just me and the fact I had to watch on TV or does it seem the Ranjerks get away with a lot of holding, obstruction and the like? Seems as though they like to push the envelope with their style of play, but I wouldn't expect any less of a Torts-coached team.

Just wanted to get your take on it since you were there live from NY!

h-

Ha, Rangers fans are stupid. Good on you for braving the dumb hordes.

Mr. Speaker-

I thought I noticed that as well, on the teevee. Wonder if h noticed anything in the real life...

You can definitely see all the clutching and grabbing. I don't know if the TV caught it, but just about everyone on the Thrashers took a run at Avery last night. It was awesome. Boulton had a long jawing session with him in the 3rd as the ref stepped in and followed them to the bench...and I'll tell you, they showed that Hainsey penalty 3 times on the jumbo and it was pretty clear that Ronsey touched the puck first on that breakaway. Also, that goal by Army was awesome...Del Zatto paid the price for being lazy in his own end!
