GAME DAY: Calgary Flames

^---a spooky time.

Had to bump down the first two installments of Deadeye Dick sometime, I'm afraid. But you can read and re-read them all you want! Plus there's a lot more coming down the pike, so be ready.

Anyway. The Thrashers play the Flames tonight, so hooray! This is one of those "something to prove" games.

Unrelated to the game but related to your Chronicle: Hey, ever wonder if there are any record labels in Atlanta trying make a serious impression on an international scale with interesting music? Creative Loafing wonders.

According to Kamal and Ben Wright twitters.

Kane is out tonight (sick), Popovic (foot), Schubert

In are Slater, Valabik and Salmela.

When I first saw that Kane was a scratch I wasn't happy about it..after all I think he plays harder than just about everybody every night. Turns out he feels like shit and needs a night. I'm sure Anderson wants him ready for the hometown crowd in Vancouver tomorrow

Daculafan- Sounds like that's right. Kane is sick (probably with whatever was ailing Kovy and Kubina last week I'd wager) and they figure a healthy Slater is better than a sick Kane.

Creative Loafing is STILL around?

I thought "local music" in Atlanta was nothing but lesbians with acoustic guitars whining about heartbreak and the environment...

Wayne, I think you need to get out more.

This is truly impressive, Frenchie Cats!!! You exuberant youngin'! BTW, I'd mentioned to Morty P that I'd emailed you last wk and never heard back. I thought you were probs just busy singing autographs and selling fedoras. NEwho, upon closer review, I am what the French call, "Les Incompetant", as I failed to include the numerals in your email addy. The email wasn't ever returned either, meaning some other D.Mans is roaming the streets like a jackal, cackling over the fact that he rec'd email intended for you.

That's right - "singing" autographs. No typo there. You don't sign them, you sing them, being a musician and all.
