If only.
Just pray for Russian oligarchs to lose all their money so Nikulin has no choice.
I thought the hangup with him was the one-way vs. two-way contract thing.
Philosophical question of the afternoon: does the "prestige" of playing in the KHL actually surpass the "prestige" of playing in the AHL?
It's a good question.
The primary motive for playing in the KHL, it seems to me, is the money. With the economy doing what it's doing, it's possible the Kazan folks may force their players to take a pay cut...which might make Atlanta more enticing.
But probably not. It's all a daydream...
Also, the other reason he didn't come was he couldn't find a out in his contract at Akz Bar to let him come to the US... that has always been the hook up. They thought they got it last year but then Rudulov pulled his little shennanigans and that went out the window.
