A Thought About the World Juniors

It's totally plausible (possible, probable, whatever) that John Tavares and Angelo Esposito will become Ilya Kovalchuk's linemates.

Just saying.

Provided DW doesn't trade Kovy and Esposito for Gaborik and a bag of used pucks!

Very true. I hope to God DW doesn't pull the trigger. I don't THINK he will, but you never know...

Gaborik is good, but Kovalchuk is much, much better.

I keep saying this, but I hope to God Gaborik(and a throw in or two) comes here for Kozlov, Williams, and Schneider/Exelby. Gaborik-Little-Kovalchuk would be pretty sweet. Draft Tavares and pair him with Armstrong and a free agent acquisition(Havlat?) next year. OR draft Hedman and pair him with Bogosian for one of the best young defensive pairings in the game. It seems like Anderson's system can manufacture goals regardless of the talent(see this year's Thrashers team), but this same system leaves the defense weakened for some easy goals. Hedman's defense might help the Thrashers more than Tavares' offense. Just saying...
