Happy New Year, Everybody. Good Riddance to '08.

Well, I think that about does it for Chronicle-blogging in 2008. As Supreme Editor round these parts, I'm using my authority to unilaterally declare a policy of No Blogging Until 2009.

Like I said, 2008 was terrible, but hopefully 2009 will be better. I think it will be; just a few things to look forward to:

- Jeremy Roenick and the San Jose Sharks attempt to win the Stanley Cup.

- Fun teams like the Bruins, the Blackhawks, the Kings, the Coyotes, and said Sharks make hay in the playoffs.

- Some interesting trades involving your Atlanta Thrashers. Whether they'll be "Hmmm, Interesting" Interesting or good old fashioned Throw-Yourself-Out-of-a-Window-Interesting remains to be seen.

- A probable very high draft pick for your Thrashers.

- The continued carnival freak implosion of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

- Your Chronicle editor's favorite President trying to deal with a deranged-wolverine economy, Israelis and Palestinians who get their jollies killing each other's kids, and that Mesopotamia business.

- The Winter Classic at Wrigley Field! We don't even have to wait that long for that one!

All of you, readers, get pre-emptive midnight kisses.
