And the Frenzy Frenzies On

We like the Mason/Ladd business. But we want at least one more guaranteed top-six forward. Alexander Frolov would do nicely.

Meanwhile, Johan Hedberg has gone to New Jersey. Martin Brodeur will never have a better back-up, so hooray for Moose!

Q: You know what's eerie?

A: Except for Volchenkov, all the Russians are silent.

IMPORTANT CORRECTION: As Razor Catch Prey points out, Sergei Gonchar is, in fact, a Russian. Your TBC editor is more negligent than Lindsay Lohan.

Don't forget Gonchar. It's hard to tell sometimes, but he's a Ruskie, too.

With all of the Blackhawks we've accumulated, we're a shoe-in for the Stanley Cup! Kane, Toews, Keith, Seabrook, and Sharp didn't have THAT MUCH to do with Chicago's winning ways, did they?

Completely agree on the need for another top 6 forward. That would allow us to play a checking line with ladd and byfuglien on the wings. I would love to see us get Belanger to be the center of that checking line and anchor our PK. I would feel really good about this team with 2 more forward acquisitions.... and if we could ship Todd White off in the process, even better!!!

Must admit that I'm having a laugh at The Czar right now. The Devils spent all their Czar money on Volchenkov, and the Kings don't want to pay him 8 billion rubles a season. He's left holding his jock at the moment. I think he'll still end up in L.A., but his price will have to come down 2-2.5 million a year.

GPY- I think you are exactly right. He won't get nearly as much $ in the NHL as what we offered him. The question is, he wanted to win AND get money. Well, he'll get much less money with the Kings, but end up on a pretty damn good team ready to take a run at the cup. No matter what dollar amount he signs for, if he goes to the Kings I think he will be happy. And hey, I can only guess his kids will have enough to eat....
