The defense let Pavelec down tonight. Those two goals in the second period were because the defensemen were out of position. That was pretty much the difference. Watching this team at home is like that movie Groundhog Day. Fall behind early, fight back to make a game of it in the second period, and then end with a furious onslaught in the final two minutes that ultimately falls short. Every fucking game.
Our effort at home blows ass. It's just a bunch of dudes who seem to be collecting pay checks and counting money, while a certain #47 is lacing up his skates, itching to get on the ice, and looks around the locker rooms and tries to get his teammates up for the game. It's gonna be really difficult to get people into that building if you go out and kick ass on the road and then come home and sleepwalk through the first period like the team did tonight.
And this--> Evander Kane's Facebook status:"Tough break tonight ,couple defensive breakdowns in our own end cost us in the end, another 1 goal game, it would be nice to see Evander on the power play since he does shine in that area of the game, what do you think?"
Yeah, at this point, to hell with Kozzy! Give Kane a chance...his shot has a better chance of going in because the kid is decisive. For some reason, Kozlov is always 2nd guessing his own shot decisions. On 2 of the PP in the 2nd period, he had ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to walk the puck into the circle and fire a wrister! Put Antro on the doorstep at the right post and see if you can get some loose change. We end up working way too hard for our goals.
The casual sports fan (not casual hockey fan) has no idea we play well on the road because only 2 of the damn 7 have been televised locally!! But then again, people apparently too busy watching Wofford play The Citadel to tune into hockey...WTF??

Thoughts?
Jimmy Slater is a piece of shit.
There's a thought for ya.
And Don Waddell should be haniging from his entrails outside of the arena for re-signing that waste-of-bench-space.
There's another for ya.

I once knew a spaniel named Chip. He was such a nice dog.

how have the home crowds been?
Last night might have been the worst I've ever seen (speaking about the crowd). At least that I can remember anyway.
It was very small, but I think we were very, very loud.
its the alternate jerseys me thinks. BURN THEM!!!
I actually like the third jerseys. Of course, I like Nickelback, too, so what do I know.
