What is it the kids say... big whoop.
The only thing in the Kari situation that concerns me is this: do we actually have to play him to increase his trade value? Obviously he'll be happier somewhere else, but do you think we have to play him first so he can get some wins?
I'd really be fine with trading him for nothing. Not because he's bad but because it would be a huge distraction to Pavelec and everybody else.
Short answer, yes. Kari has no trade value. This now puts his return at Jan... at the earliest. I don't see him being ready before the Olympic break. Who knows, really.
I'd say we would have to move him in the offseason and get whatever we can for him.
The sad thing here is that not an injury from being lazy, rather something just screwed up happened. He might not ever play again because of that, so lets hope for the best out of him.
Tis sad for Kari indeed...since he is now our resident invalid, perhaps you should cast his as Doc Holliday in your western movie. Rumour has it he certainly likes to drink and carouse...not sure if he's much of a card player tho. According to Moose's tweet, Anssi might have some untapped comedica potential for the role as well.

Honestly, though, your thought when you read it was my thought as well - "Wow, just 8 more weeks? Good job!" Talk about learned helplessness and acceptance...
We don't need to play him to increase his trade value. Just have DW call up any other GM and state what we want from their roster and in exchange we'll send them "K..." and hopefully they will hastily accept the trade before DW finishes "ari." instead of "ovalchuck."
Well he has to get better in order to kill Johnny Ringo if we're gonna run with this film. I've got John Ford and Sergio Leone fighting to do this.
i think it's time i give one of you his home address, and have you pick him up and drive him up to me so i can nurse him back to health, having had this same surgery twice myself, and gotten back into playing shape in under 2 months. you guys in?
