First the Sharks see off the Red Wings.
Then the Canadiens bring down the Penguins.
This is almost as fascinating and as refreshing as the Cameron-Clegg alliance. The era of dull-as-dishwater two-team hegemony in the Stanley Cup Final has come to an end. Finally.
Vive la résistance!
Also: a Boston-Montreal series would be pretty cool, though with the current Boston-Philly score who knows what will happen.

Seeing as the Habs are the only team that doesn't have any ex-Thrashers currently playing significant minutes on their roster (to my knowledge, at least), I've put myself firmly on the Habs bandwagon.
I hadn't thought about it that way. You're right: every team except the Habs has a prominent former Thrasher on it...what does that say about us?
I'm sure Rick Dudley will lead us to dynastic glory, though.
Anyway, yeah, allez les Habs! This kind of unlikely run I can get behind.
It has been a confusing playoffs, emotionally speaking. All 8 teams I was pulling for in the first round lost. I dislike both the Pens and Habs, but the hockey has been so good that I have had to watch. And you can't watch without pulling for somebody. I finally decided I was for the Habs because despite my general hatred for their organization, they have more individual players I like and don't really have any I particularly dislike at the moment. That's probably because I haven't watched them much this year to be infuriated by their diving.
Out west there was the epitome of all evil- Detroit- vs Danny Heatley. That was a no-win situation.
Now it appears that Boston is going to lay down and let history be made by droping four straight to the Flyers after leading three games to none. Unlike Montreal, I can't really think of any Flyer players I like. I don't dislike Richards and Carter and Boucher, but I don't have any reason to pull for them like I do Gionta and Gomez.
All of that I guess is to say if Boston wins I'm pulling for them in the East, but if Philly wins I'm pulling for the Habs. If the Cup Final is San Jose and Montreal, I have to choose between the Cup going back to Canada or Danny Heatley winning a cup.
Well. I'm glad we got that cleared up.
