A Bounce Here, a Bounce There, Everywhere a Bounce Bounce

"I just think that it just goes to show how close we really were and how in the league there's a lot of parity," Anderson said before boarding a flight to Toronto, where he is doing work for Canadian sports network TSN. "A goal here, a bounce there, a referee's call here or there can make a difference between winning a series and maybe even making it into the playoffs."

Glad to see John Anderson has found work still talking about all those bad bounces. I mean, good gravy, JUST GIVE IT UP ALREADY!!!!

On a side note, I have now decided that I would prefer us to trade our #8 pick, if the right opportunity comes along. I think we are at the right time in our franchise history to make this move and lets face it... that is going to be by far the easiest way to get another prime player in here. It ain't gonna happen in free agency. Hey, lookie here.... Calgary needs a new start and they don't have a 1st round pick (or 2nd or 3rd, I don't think). Hmmm. Could it be true? Dudley has talked about bringing in maybe one guy that is a little older for leadership purposes. Package the #8 pick along with something else for the guy, who in my opinion, that is the best Captain currently in the NHL. Pure BS (Big Shooter) speculation here. Nothing more. I would do this in a heartbeat. How about you? Hmmm?

HEEEENNNNNGGGGHHHHH!!

Like I said before, Iggy has a no trade clause, but maybe we could convince him to come. He would have the unique opportunity to be a mentor to Evander Kane who has said Iggy is his favorite player, as well as serving as the face of the franchise and the ambassador of hockey in Atlanta that no player has done in the ten years we've had an NHL team.

And Shooter, it's good to see you adopting slang from the cowboys on Amazing Race. They should have won.

I totally agree about the #8 pick. If you can get a top 6 scorer in late 20s or very early 30s that is locked up for at least 3 years (or one you can lock up), then I think you HAVE to do it. I like JI alot. I also think the one thing this team was missing last year was 1 or 2 "winners". Guys on the team that have won something and know how to win (Kozlov doesn't count). We're plenty young and now we need some experience. Unless Tyler or Taylor fall to #8 which they won't, then I think you go out there and try to make a deal. Throw in Todd White too (or just release him). Another deal I wouldn't mind considering would be some package for Spezza. White, the #8 and someone from the Wolves not named Kulda for Spezza. He's another big Center (or Centre) who could anchor the 2nd line. A dude can dream.....

Spezza would be a good option, but I don't really see the Sens shipping him out. The talk about that was just like the talk about Malkin. It's just bitter fans crying about "blowing it up" after elimination and media folks trying to get hits.

Kind of like people saying we should trade Toby Enstrom. Remember that madness?

Another option might be Marty St. Louis. He's 34, so I wouldn't trade too much to get him, but he's probably got 4 or more good years left in him, he's won a Cup, and has shown he can play well with young stars. He made a couple of comments that sounded like he wanted out of TB, and the situation there just keeps getting worse.

I like Marty too. He's a midget, but he knows how to score. How cool would it be to have 2 Martys on the team. Now THAT's a party!

I think the situation in Tampa is getting better, not worse. They have one owner, who is going to hire a CEO. The CEO then hires the GM. The GM then hires the Coach. Everyone has their job and it doesn't sound like the owner is going to be sticking his head where it doesn't belong.

The ideal situation.

The situation in TB is bound to improve, but this week's PR shitstorm orchestrated by Alan Walsh isn't going to help their reputation with free agents.

In other news, Cindy Crotchby has bought a house of his own and won't be living in Mario's basement anymore. Like an actual man!

Mario grounded him after his performance in this year's playoffs. There was a big fight and Sidney moved out. He'll see that living on his own is tough out there. I expect him back at Mario's by the time next season starts.

Brief non-hockey note:

I know there's some soccer fans who come here, so if you haven't heard about the Manchester City VS Club America friendly in late July, check out the details on Ticketmaster.

That is all. Oh, and the Bruins sure did assume the position against the Flyers. Unbelievable failure on their part.
