Well...

It was a win. My car was skidding on the freaking iced-over road earlier. Exhilarating but fear-of-God terrifying.

P.S. Walking out of the arena into a downtown Atlanta completely draped in snow was quite enchanting. Good night everyone.

Glad you made it home. I just walked in the door. LONG drive. But, the epic snowball fight leaving Philips was worth it. Took one directly in the eye but played on. As any hockey player would. Sorry you guys missed it!

A snowy downtown was indeed a beautiful sight. However, the driving was terrifying. I skidded down the icy exit ramp from the Ga Bar Association deck, then slid around on the road. I could hear my ABS whirring, trying to get my truck stopped.

While trying to get to Peachtree Street, there was a MARTA bus stopped on the other side of the road. Some idiot decided he'd just go around (by driving into the oncoming lane) and squeeze between that bus and the parked car on my side of the street. I had to slam on my brakes and still almost slid into him as my tires had stopped but my momentum had not. He of course looked at me like I had done something wrong.

Oh, and great to see the boys get a win, even if it still wasn't in regulation. Good for Jimmy Slater getting the goal and #1 star.

Glad to see all of you got to & from the game safely. My question is were the panhandlers also draped in snow as well. If so, did it make them more enchanting?

Watching Todd White whiff on that chance with a few seconds remaining just makes me think that he's gotta be scratched every night. He's become the new Zhitnik (big salary, poor +/-, generally enrages the fan base.) Play Slater on the 4th, get Marty back on the 3rd line, and let's get back to winning some hockey games....after we lose to the Caps on Saturday.

Glad to hear I I'm not the only one who can't handle driving on ice.

We actually had our own snowball fight walking out of the arena. It was glorious.

Man, I was a bit worried for you guys once I realized inside of Taco Mac that there was that much frozen precip on the roads! So happy y'all got home safely. As did we but we had a little help from a friend from Ottawa. Thanks Stuart if you're out there lurking somewhere! Gotta love Subarus and All-Wheel Drive for those kinda harrowing situations.

RCP - Damn brother, that is insane. Glad your brakes kicked in just enough!! Next time you should probably just ram him good and teach him a lesson!

To all - 'twas great sitting downstairs with all of you. And it was an honor meeting Mike's father (why can't I remember his damn name?) after the game. I apologize for my numerous curse-laden outbursts but it's just too damn tempting to be that close to the ice in a fairly empty arena. And Sean Avery makes my blood boil!! Probably a good thing I'm in the upper deck for 20 of the final 22 home games!

Peace and stay safe (IOW, inside!)

Mr. Speaker-

I can't enough of your profane outbursts. Don't change.

Oh, and I almost forgot, GPY-

Many laughs at the snow-covered panhandlers. They looked like magical hobo polar bears.

Well done, fellas! Good to get a win.

Sure wish I couldve seen some of them snowball fights. And the snow covered panhandlers. Wonder if there are any midget panhandlers. They would look like real gnomes...

Side note: The word verification for this comment was "saltio". Found it ironic given the weather and all the talk about icy road conditions.
