Kari Lehtonen Returns Not a Moment Too Soon

Vivlamore:

Your morning practice report begins with the news that Kari Lehtonen and Nik Antropov are taking part in the skate.

This is Lehtonen’s first practice with the team since...

Antropov is back. Lehtonen is skating. White and Kozlov are now on a line with Eric Boulton. Make of this what you will.

The lines in practice, also from Viv's post:

Blue: Kovalchuk-Antropov/Peverly-Thorburn

Gray: Armstong-Reasoner-Afinogenov

Orange: Kane-Slater-Little

Red: Kozlov-White-Boulton

After my initial reaction of "oh, shit, we're trying Thorburn with Kovy again," I looked at the other lines and was more intrigued.

A Fins Army Party will have grit and scoring ability. Kane, Jimmy, and Lits will also be fast and will put forth good effort. Kozlov, White, and Boulton puts the bench warmers together where they belong this year. Boults is actually the best player out of these three this season.

Kari's back and you're gonna be in trouble! Cuz he is one sinister Finn when it comes to Black Jack! Damn. SOB took $5 K of my money!!

Kari will be key for us to turn this thing around. Been sayin' it since Pavs' 4th game in a row of giving up 4 or more goals. A rested, motivated Pavs will give us another good spell at some point if we can afford to keep three goalies on hand til the end.

Lastly, y'all might want to check out this Casino Night recap video featuring Marty, Pevs, Kovy and a certain secret TBC operative. Not to mention a slammin' hot vixen by the name of K-belle!

Our playoff chances lay in the hands of a pudgy man's tender groin and a sneaky Russian's ability to put pen to paper.

White, Kozlov, and Boulton? What the...

Why Kane hasn't gotten a chance to be in the top 6 fowards instead of White,Kozlov, or Little is beyond me. The guy's one of the few who has the work rate to keep this team in games, so why not reward the kid? We didn't draft him to be another Jim Slater, did we?

Wahahaha Mr. Speaker speaks on the video! About brutality, no less.

Marty the Party looks like a firm but fair dealer. Mizz Krisabelle looks lovely, obviously.

I really have no idea what to make of the line combinations. I've given up trying to predict things/figure anything out. We are, as GPY points out, at the mercy of a Finnish groin and Ilya Kovalchuk's pen.

Oh..... just had a flash of Kovy stabbing Kari in the groin with his pen and signing a contract with Kari's blood. Too graphic?
At least the contract was signed. However, that wouldn't leave the team any better off then they were on Saturday night.

I hope that the new 3rd and 4th lines mean that we're trying something other than the Kozlov-White-Little line against the other team's top line, because that hasn't been working out this year.

Mr. Speaker-
I saw the video and please take no offense, but you have definitely outkicked your coverage with K-Belle. She's a purty girl.

Indeed, I have acquitted myself nicely, haven't I?

But what I lack in looks I make up for in amazing charisma and charm! And a swolled up set of pecs!

Ooooo yeeeah!

Proteau is on the prowl again...countdown to Shooter's next weenie-laced tirade commencing NOW.

Jay - Yes, indeed. We may disagree on Kovy, but we agree on the fact that Speaker is out of his league!

Speaker - I read that article from Proteau. Trying to limit my weenie-laced tirades at the moment. We'll see!

Back to the point of the post... all this talk about what to do with Kovy... what about Kari? Really.

What if he comes back and lights it up? I used to think it would be fun to be a GM, but I tell ya I really don't know what to do about that one. I think Kari has more talent than Pavs. I say if he is ready in two weeks we throw him in there and see what he can do, and not trade any of the goalies until the offseason.

Agreed Shooter...on the part about being out of my league!! ;-)

As for the goalies, that's a very tough one. It may depend on Kovy. If Kovy signs, BIG IF, AND Kari plays well, then Lehtonen will have the biggest trade value I believe unless Pavs turns this around soon. If Kovy stays and Lehts plays well, then we may very well be BUYERS rather than sellers at the deadline, which changes everything. But knowing Kari's potential, I think I'd trade Pavs to a team that is desperate for young goaltending DEPTH, not a starter. Then again, since that lousy Finn fleeced me last night playing BJ, I'm trading his ass!

Aw, you fellas are the sweetest! Thank you! Although I think Jason is quite dreamy himself. ;-)

GPY - nice comment about Kari's tender groin! Too funny. He sucked at dealing Black Jack. You could see everyone at the tables collective look of shock n' awe when he raked in all the chips like we were playing FOR REAL MONEY. I even told him we just came from MArty's *FUN* table...no effect could be seen. We dipped STAT. Hope he's as good at cunningly clutching pucks in his gloved mit right out of thin air.

Cheerios n' Cocoa Puffs to you all!
