The Fun Never Stops

(updated below)

What, you thought I'd gone to bed?

Not on this night of World Cup triumphs and Thrashers trades and endless Wimbledon matches and an Atlanta Braves team that never gives up, no sir.

Anyway, TO THE BUSINESS AT HAND:

Well damn me like Cavalcanti.

Word is Torchetti is likely to be assistant coach. What all this means I might have a better sense of in the morning.

Rick Dudley is some kind of hustler.

UPDATE: Brett "Stirling" Sterling and Mike Vernace have been banished to San "Sand" Jose's slave labor farm.

UPDATE II: Per Craig Custance, Joey Crabb would also be headed to Chicago in the Byfuglien deal if he wasn't in Chicago already, haw.

Apparently we're offloading 2 contracts to the San Jose Sharks for "future considerations." Here's hoping that a certain Mr. White is amongst those contracts.

I saw that too. Maybe one of these "future considerations" involves us getting Devin Setoguchi or Joe Pavelski, in the future.

Hell, if Kubina's leaving town, trade the rights to Pavel/Army/White to SJS for negotiating rights for either of the guys you mentioned. I'd take almost anybody from San Jose...well, except for Jumbo Joe and that Heatley character.

Please let it be Todd White. Please let it be Todd White.
Please let it be Todd White.
Please...you get the picture.

Actually, could MacArthur be involved?

Could they flip Sopel or Eager to SJ?

What the..."Atl-Chi deal can go thru. Atl also trades 7th rder with Brett Stirling's expiring contract/Michael Vernace's contract"--Bob McKenzie.

Erm...I'll assume no deal with SJS then. That just ruins all my delusions of a Kane-Pavelski-Byfulgien line carrying us to greatness.

Alas, I misunderstood the TSN tweet. I'm not hanging around for notes from Rick Dudley's 1 AM conference call. Nothing else significant will happen this evening.
